1. Teacher Shane

Teacher Shane is a mother of two lovely children. She has obtained Diploma in Early Childhood (Leadership) from Learning Capital and Diploma in Early Childhood from Singapore Institute of Management. She is also interested in special needs children and has just graduated from Linguistic Council and awarded Diploma in Learning Disorders Management and Child Psychology. She has been working in early childhood education for more than 10 years and was working as a Supervisor in Cambridge Child Devt Centre and Kinderland Academy. With her years of experience and knowledge, she will bring in the best from those renowned institutions and move our school to a higher level in education service.

2.Teacher Shida

Teacher Shida has been working in early childhood for more than 5 years and has obtained Certification of Preschool Teaching. Now she is pursuing Diploma course in preschool teaching and will get her diploma in early 2009. She love working with children. Her smile always warm up the children and draw them closer to her. She is very skillful in handling even very active students and is able to attract them with her special charm and teaching method. She has deep passion in teaching and feels the greatest reward of her career is to see children achieve good result and excel in their study and life. We will see more and more children to excel under her devoted care and effective teaching.

 

2.Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration: Date: 12 Sep 2008 Friday

On the day of celebration, children have tasted the moon cake and below are pictures showing Teacher Qing telling them the story of "Chang Er Ben Yue" in Chinese legend.
Teachers also assisted them to make a special Lantern to bring back home to celebrate together with parents.


2. Birthday Party
This month, we witnessed the growth of two young brothers and celebrated their four and two years' birthday at school. It is great to see them growing up and making marvelous progress day by day.

 

3. ChildrenĄ¯s Day Celebration-- Outing to KidĄ¯s Kampong, 30th September 2008 (Tuesday)

The trip to Kid's Kampong was really memorable to our children. It may be the first time for some of them to see a real goose, touch a small rabbit, feel the gentle kiss by the golden fish. They enjoyed to their fullest and experienced so much fun activities that day.

1. Change of time table:

The formal class will start at 9:00am in the morning instead of 9:30am so that student can have sufficient study time. Parents please help to bring the children in before 8:30am if you wish your child to have breakfast in the centre. If your child prefer to have breakfast at home, please bring he/her in before 9:00am.

2. Come to Meet Us-- Parents and Teachers Meeting on 15 Nov 2008

We hope to share with you about your child's performance in the school and to update parents about the future new plan. Meanwhile, it would be a great opportunity to gather feedback from parents to improve our work. Therefore a parent and teacher meeting is planned on the 2nd week of November 2008.

Date: 15th November 2008. (Saturday)
Time: 8:30 am to 10:30 am. You may arrange with your child's respective teacher to arrange the time.
Please arrange your time in advance if you need.

3. Special Project Month in November 2008

Most of the month in the year of 2008, we arranged our study according to a specific theme, which teacher lead the study process.
We are planning a special project month in November 2008, which will help children to initiate and apply the knowledge and skills they learnt through both child and teacher initiated learning activities.

Objective and Advantages of Project Work Base Learning:
It is to let children know how to use skills and when to use them. It supports and extends the children's learning skills. The main advantages are: :

  • Applying skills
  • Do activities at independent level
  • Teacher guides the child's work
  • Child chooses from alternatives Intrinsic motivation
  • Builds on child's strengths

To achieve successful project work base learning, we will seek parents involvement too.

Project Title:
The Enormous Crocodile - written by famous child's author Roald Dahl

Summary of the story:
The enormous crocodile is a horrid greedy who likes to play tricks in an attempt to guzzle up little boys and girls. But the other animals have had enough of his tricks, so they scheme to get the better of this crocodile, once and for all!

Parental Involvement:
Parents can become interested and involved in project work by supporting both children and teacher. You could also help to collect the materials,sharing knowledge of the subject and work with your child.

Project Learning :
There are 3 phrases in project work. You can find out more about it in our website from next month. We would be displaying there.

Learning process and final product
On 29 November, Saturday, parents will be invited to view their child's project work.
